A true statement piece, featuring a gorgeous cabochon citrine with the look of liquid gold. This citrine cabochon ring was created in New York City during the last days of disco in 1980 by the iconic designer, Paloma Picasso.
This ring stems from a private collection of a New York socialite. We like to think the ring frequented Studio 54 and saw the likes of Grace Jones, Bianca Jagger and Liza Minelli.
Paloma Picasso is the daughter of Pablo Picasso, arguably the greatest painter of the 20th Century. She grew up in France and started working for Tiffany & Co. in the early 1980s. She is famous for her bold use of colour and strident designs.
The citrine weighs approximately 40.0 carats. The dimensions of the setting are 36mm x 28mm.
