Bloomsbury Manor was established in 2011 by husband-and-wife duo, Meritxell Lavanchy and Andrew Wilkinson. Their journey began with a shared vision to offer beautiful, great value, authentic jewellery for sale online. Together they brought a unique blend of experiences. Andrew's background in advertising brought a keen understanding of branding and market strategy. While Meritxell's passion for jewellery and luxury goods offered a creative perspective that emphasised aesthetics and craftsmanship. The business began with the purchase of two Art Deco rings, and has grown from there.

Meritxell's love for jewellery was nurtured from a young age. Growing up, she accompanied her mother to various markets and auctions, where she was immersed in a world of unique finds and historical treasures. Her mother’s work as an amateur furniture restorer allowed Meritxell to appreciate the artistry involved in creating and preserving beautiful objects. This early exposure ignited a passion for the intersection of nature and craftsmanship, leading her to recognize the beauty in jewellery as a reflection of both human skill and the natural world. At the heart of Bloomsbury Manor is a philosophy that celebrates the synergy between nature and human endeavour.

Early on in the company’s life we discovered a popular niche for pre-owned Tiffany & Co. Engagement Rings. Bloomsbury Manor are now the largest re-seller of Tiffany Engagement Rings in the UK.

Andrew and Meritxell were early pioneers of the circular economy, taking precious jewels already in existence and giving them a new lease of life. “It’s a win-win situation,” explains Meritxell. “The engagement rings are put through our unique Proposal-Ready™️ process to restore them to their original condition. Yet we can sell at a significant reduction off their original price. Our business has always had an ethical and sustainable outlook; recycling jewellery is about as environmentally friendly as you can get.”

In addition to Tiffany Engagement rings, Bloomsbury Manor specialise in pre-owned jewellery from Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and Bulgari as well as offering hand-picked vintage and antique pieces. “Everything is curated here,” says Meritxell. “Sometimes I cannot explain why I might like a particular piece but, I feel that if I like it, someone else will too.”

Meritxell has an honours degree in Psychology from UCL and is a Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association, having obtained a double distinction in her Gem-A Diamond Diploma.
