These vintage teardrop Tiffany & Co earrings by Elsa Peretti are the large version, crafted from 18k yellow gold. The post slips invisibly into the back of the earring, creating a slick look. No longer sold by Tiffany & Co, these earrings were created in the 1990s.
Elsa Peretti joined Tiffany & Co in 1974. She had already been a long standing collaborator of the famed fashion designer, Halston. With her eye for naturalistic forms and unconventional materials she brought fresh ideas to the iconic jewellery house. Her designs became an instant success as she democratised jewellery for a wider audience, using silver and non precious materials like wood.
