Aldo Cipullo created the 'Love' design in New York, in 1969. Allegedly the design was inspired by a relationship break up, which led Cipullo to think about the concept of permanent love. He was working for Tiffany & Co. at the time but Tiffany rejected the concept so he took it to Cartier. The rest, as they say, is history...
