A wonderful example of an Antique target or plaque ring.
The ring dates from the 1920s and features a transitional look from Edwardian to Art Deco fashion.
The central cushion cut diamond weighs approximately 1ct. It is 5.5mm in length. Colour and clarity are both assessed in the setting as H/VS. There are no inclusions visible to the naked eye or loupe.
The surrounding calibre cut rubies form a halo around the diamond and a further halo of old cut diamonds surround the rubies.
The gallery features intricate carving and is entirely handmade.
The shank is stamped with the French import stamp for 18k gold and the mascaron stamp for platinum.
The plaque measures 13.22 x 11.98mm.
