A wonderful Tiffany & Co. brooch from the Hugs & Kisses or 'XO' collection. This is the large version of the brooch, designed by Paloma Picasso in 1983. With its fun and informal message it makes for a striking modern look, despite its vintage pedigree.
The brooch mixes both warm 18k gold with platinum. The platinum is used to provide the backdrop for a spattering of brilliant white natural diamonds.
Paloma Picasso is the daughter of arguably the greatest painter of the 20th Century, Pablo Picasso. She grew up in France and began working for Tiffany & Co. in the early 1980s. She is famous for her bold use of colour and strident designs.
