The Pendant has an 18k gold bail and can be worn with a chain of your choice; our photograph shows it being worn with a simple black silk cord.
These famous Cartier Silverium Pendants were manufactured in the late 1980s using a patented technique combining silver and sulphur. This gave a black colour throughout the piece, not just a surface patina. This process was developed by renowned atelier Lucien Vachey, and every piece of black Cartier Silverium is stamped with a lozenge shaped poinçon showing the LV of Lucien Vachey.
The initial patent was filed in 1984 and became an instant hit. Most of Cartier's Silverium jewellery was made in the late 1980s. Watch the video in our picture gallery to learn more.
The Pendant weighs 27.6 grams and measures 5.6cms in length.
The gold bail is signed Cartier, with a unique serial number, with French hallmarks for 18k gold and a maker's mark for Lucien Vachey.
