A stunning Art Nouveau pedant featuring The Virgin Mary and surrounded with a halo of seed pearls (untested, probably natural) by renowned French medalist and engraver, Emile Dropsy. Based in Paris Emile Dropsy (1848-1923) specialised in Religious, nature and landscape subjects in the Art Nouveau style.
He came from a family of marble sculptors but chose engraving by becoming apprentice at renowned metal engravers Lemoine in Paris.
This pendant, with its beautiful and serene depiction of the Virgin Mary exudes French quality in craftsmanship.
With floral detail to the reverse of the pendant.
