"I love this item! Please let me know when you have another one":

A French Etruscan Revival snake from around 1880, woven from strands of high-carat gold, with old cut Diamonds for eyes.

Coil it around the wrist by day; open it out as a choker by night. Either way, it will be the piece people ask you about.

The story. In the 19th century, the discovery of several pre-Roman Etruscan tombs gave birth to a fashion for Etruscan-style jewellery. This bracelet dates from the late 19th century, around 1880.

The detail. The body is woven from fine strands of gold that tests as 22k, and the eyes are set with old cut Diamonds. Uncoiled, the snake measures 69cm (27 inches) and weighs 47.7 grams. A safety chain is attached.
