Aldo Cipullo created the Love design in New York, 1969. Allegedly the design was inspired by a relationship break up which led Aldo to think about the concept of permanent love. He was in fact working for Tiffany & Co. at the time but Tiffany rejected the concept, so he took it to Cartier. The rest, as they say, is history.
